OUR PROCESS
Learn
The first step in any consulting engagement is learning your business. We don’t have to know it as well as your experts but an understanding of it fundamentally is essential for us to gain insight into optimizing the processes that deliver it.
We will deep dive into your data and documentation, interview key stakeholders, shadow users, and help facilitate generating workflows if they do not currently exist.
Measure
Once we have gotten up to speed on your business or the program in focus, we need to evaluate the way in which the process or program is measured. In every efficiency analysis you must get scientific. If you have no way to measure, you cannot quantify the impact you’re having.
Measurement is a cornerstone of all global best practices around process improvement for a reason. We can help develop and implement KPIs (key performance indicators) that will help you run and measure the performance of your business processes.
Analyze
After we have learned a sufficient amount about your business and gathered all of the data, we will take all of the measurements and analyze. It is in this step that we use our industry experience and various aspects of global best practices like Lean, ITIL, and others to look for ways to optimize.
The analyzation phase prioritizes looking for what we call gaps. These are opportunities for potential improvement that should be explored. These are either differences we notice between your current method and your ideal best practice, or a difference compared to a globally recognized best practice. It’s improtant to denote all and discuss with the stakeholders to categorize, prioritize, and legitimize.
Solution Engineering
With the learned knowledge, data, measurements, and analysis in hand we next move on to solution engineering. This often involves reseach and testing as not all solutions are a right fit in a given scenario.
We use all of the various technologies and best practices to develop custom solutions tailored to each individual client. Solutions often come as options with the necessary details to inform a decision. This stage also comes with project plan outlines, reports, gap analysis, and details on what it would take to implement.

The standard engagement follows the below model but is flexible to fit your needs and the opportunity. Please contact us to discuss non-standard engagements so that we can provide as much detail as needed.
Discovery
We start by getting to know your business and the opportunities you have for improvement. Your successes and your challenges, and how best we can fit into your organization as a valued partner. The standard output is an idea of the overall engagement starting with Solutioning, or right into implementation in some cases.
Solutioning
If you need help figuring out which path is right for your business we can help. Let us handle the research, deep dives, and value/effort calculations. A result of this solutioning effort will be a recommended path forward often with options, a sample project plan, and ideas around implementation.
Implementation
Sometimes all you needed was Solutioning, other times you need help implementing or even managing the change. Archimedes has a wide offering of professional services and flexible billing options to fit any situation. Let us take the burden of implementing and documenting all while providing training and support.
